I have a 2000 series Cub Cadet HDS 2135, the bearing failed in the electric clutch. I removed the clutch, a
Warner Electric
Now when I go and cross reference the "5217-7" I find that

You need the first one. Or better yet, sell the cub cadet...:indif: My own experience with cub cadet is that I will never, ever purchase anything of that brand again. They love to sell individual pieces to make up a whole part. I have one of their sadly lacking "professional" model weed eaters, when the shaft let go I found out it was cheaper to buy the whole weed eater new than to try and repair the one I have. I went to the Stihl store and have been very happy ever since. I never recommend cub cadet to anyone for anything, well they do make good boat and buoy anchors.
