OK, it is 25 degrees outside right now, and my garage is not heated and if it has insulation, it doesn't seem to have much. It is COLD out there! I put the food I canned out on shelves in the garage. Are they OK out there? Or is it too cold? I'm probably over concerned, but it never occurred to me until just now that maybe I should keep them where there aren't so many temperature changes.

thanks, Cindyc.

Check the temperature in the garage. Your stuff should be OK unless it actually freezes. If it does, the expanding food could push the lid up and/or break the jars.

Too cold, in my opinion.. likely the contents will freeze and expand enough to break the seal. If the contents have already frozen, and the jars have not broken, I'd keep the food frozen until used.

OK Thank you. I am moving them now. Better to be safe than sorry.
