I saw this about the 50 worst counties to live in.
One of the ways they define worst is by the percentage of adults with degrees.
But is it a cause or effect? face it when the best jobs in the county are down at the sawmill is there any reason for the people in the country to have a degree?
I think Ann Arbor, home of University of Michigan, has the nation's highest percentage of Doctorates and Masters. It is liberal heck hole.
As an example, some citizens like to feed the deer. Others complain about the damage to their shrubbery. Some like to watch them, others hate the increase in car/deer traffic accidents.
There was a proposal to have Federal Wildlife Services come in and harvest the deer. But that involves guns and killing. So, they came up with a plan to capture as many deer as they can and spay or neuter them, all at taxpayers expense.
Number of degree holders isn't much of a measuring stick for best or worst counties.
This doesn’t appear to be exactly true. My niece was a law student there and I remember her talking about it. Looks like they’ve shot bunches of deer. Also, greater Boston has the highest number of masters and doctorates in the country. Not Ann Arbor.
If you will notice that several of the very worst counties have large Native American reservations within them. It is a testament of what happens when you rely on government to care for you.
My little county didn't make the list. 18% poverty rate , my nephew makes about $55k at the local sawmill and according to the census records there's only 17 people less here than 1910....
This "worst counties" list: are the ratings actual facts, or just another biased opinion, formed by picking the various criteria used? And if they are chosen by opinion, does this particular opinion somehow fall outside the standard measure of opinions?
