I was reading the newspaper's death notices and came across one for a woman who in 1964, on a vacation with her parents and daughter, went to a racetrack in Florida and made a $2 bet in the Twin Double. It said she won $81,000, and that was the largest payout at that time. Isn't that cool?

It reminded me of the time when I was a child, and my father had taken me to a beer joint that had slot machines. I was drinking a Coke and he was having a beer. A couple of men came in, and one put a coin in the slot machine, and then started walking into the back room with his friend. Well, the slot machine started spitting out a huge amount of quarters! It was cool. This must have been around 1960, in Maryland.
