ok, i guess where i am stuck is the dash removal. the bottom half is out, but the top remains. i can wiggle it up and down, but i have no idea how to remove it or what to disconnect to get it free...in one piece.

also, the duct assembly...i don't know how much to remove or what connects to what so that i can.

i got stuck before the big chill and it has been too cold to resume work in my driveway. i presumably have everything disconnected, but the heater box is still fairly tight. the top vents are still attached, but they are free moving...i just don't have enough room to pull it apart. the whole unit still seems a bit tight, but it does wiggle a bit. reading down the vortex forum thread, someone suggested there may be a clip on the very top of the box. that is where i left off. when i get back to work on it, i will check for that top clip and see if it wiggles better. the guy who posted the demo was right...those two back side clips were terrible to remove. i had a dental pick type of tool that helped out and i got them.

i really need to get rid of that junker 1985 celebrity station wagon that is hogging my garage and get some heat in there so i can work inside.

i think the problem with getting rid of that station wagon is that i wax a bit nostalgic. i think i got my first "mobile action" in that machine back in high school...she was a really hot redhead, too. :D plus, i used to race a dude home from work who also was driving his mom's car. it was a turbo daytona and i would often win!
