I live in the country-10 miles from town. Not many people In this county. Small town but they do control who is elected. I never vote anymore. Waste of time here. Also Fed government vote is waste of time. Just look at the last President election. One big joke.

Our township has 312 people. Road commissioner won last term by 4 votes. The guy before him won by 7.
My politics is here at home first. My house is a monarchy overseen by the Queen. In her absence I rule as Emperor/sub God, subjugating all critters and Canines to my tyrannical decrees.
As far as politics outside of our home, the older we get the wider our moat.

For 25 years I lived in one county and worked in a big city, different county. I could only vote where I live, but I had to pay City income tax for the money earned while working in Big City. I followed the politics in the city as they related to income tax and at the first opportunity, worked from home to reduce said income tax. I more closely follow politics where I live and vote.

That being said - my allegiance is not based on geography.
