It started when I was a kid and I would take my Dad's survival handbook out to the woods to identify wild edibles, brought home chickens, kept a pony and later horses, ravaged my Gramma's asparagus patch, and went camping in the woods with nothing but matches and a sleeping bag.
I just ordered chickens to replace my last batch...meat chickens and white leghorns. Butcher the cornish and stewing hens myself. Love canning and gardening. I have flats of seedlings started under lights in the basement. Getting ready for foraging season. Can't help myself!
I was a member here quite some time ago, but life got busy and I stopped visiting. So I guess this is a re-introduction.
Howdy from another addicted homesteader!
