I ordered this thing Tuesday morning early. It had free shipping so I figured it would come snail mail so would be a couple week to recive it.

But it was shipped later Tuesday afternoon EST, by UPS, I was shocked this morning when I checked the tracking to find it was already out for delivery.
I do want to made a negtive statement about UPS how ever. My drive is gravekl and 400 feet long. It is solid how ever and I had just smoothed it from Wednesdays rain and the ruts I had made with my pick up. but still if they are not going to drive down the drive way to deliver the package they should hand carry it down. If Kare had not went out to get the mail this afternoon it would have been there till Monday.

Could be worse, I had won a hat from a company by doing a review on their excellent service processing a order and it was shipped by FED X, Those jerks leaned the box againest my mail box in plain sight of of god and every one who drove down our road. Lucky they fly by so didn't see it. Also my drive way was plowed and rivaled the take off run way at Bishop Airport in Flint.

Any way I have got it and have read the owners manual I down loaded off the inter net so was quick and simple to assemble.

I have been wanting one for a long time and have had it on my birthday gift list with a note to check Pawn shops for one.

But when the banker frowned on my checking pawn shops. I did searches for best detecter for a biggneer under 300.00 and this one came up as the top one.
When I did a search for the best one under 200.00 this one was added as a post script as it was more than $200.00 but diserved a mention it is so good.
So that is why I now own one.

If it isn't raining tomorrow I will be out looking for a grab hook lost off a chain while draging a old tractor tire behind the atv to clear a snow path.

Also to test finding self planted coins.

Well didn't find the grab hook. Found 3 brass bases for 16ga shot gun shells, propably old paper ones as there was nothing else. six 22 mag cases and a small allen head screw.
Though might be one missing from my chain saw recoil but it was to big for that.

Don't know about intresting. I am sure the woods is full of old shot gun shell bases from back in the wax paper days. The 22 mag cases are from about 2007 when I sat there shooting squirrels for dinner the next day.

The screw was a surprise.

my fed ex and UPS drivers both back in to my driveway stop, turn off the vehicle, get the package and walk it to my porch. My USPS driver pulls in, drives all the way up to the house and if my truck is there she sits in her vehicle and honks the horn until I come out to get the package instead of making the 10ft walk to my porch. She usually won't deliver packages if there is any snow on my driveway which I thought was ridiculous... I saw why when I was home sick 2 weeks ago, their little USPS vehicles are terrible on snow. I only had a little dusting on my driveway but she got stuck at the end of the drive where the plow trucks had made a mess of the slushy crap that was harder than the rest of the driveway. I do tend to agree though that it's her freaking job, she should wear some reasonable shoes for snow and park at the end of the drive and walk the package to the house if it won't fit in the box.... instead she just leaves me a note in my mailbox that says she can't deliver because the driveway isn't plowed and you can pick your package up at the post office which closes at 4PM and I get out of work at 4PM and have a 20-30 minute drive to get to the post office so that means I have to take time off work because she can't get her feet wet doing her job.

Normally I'd go shovel the driveway but the last two winters have been tough to get it done in a timely manner since we had our first kid and I'm home alone with him until my wife gets home after dark during the winter, then by the time we eat dinner we have an hour to spend together before he goes to bed and I don't typically go out to shovel the driveway after that because I only have about another hour to do chores before I go to bed to get up early for work.

Normally during the week UPS delivers my meds from the VA along with insulin. They drive in and back into the turn around and walk the package to the door, bang on the door and leave. I am 400' off the road so don't have a problem with that. Because you can only see about 250' of drive way from any house window due to a curve and spruce trees for privicy I do have an issue with them throwing a package out along the drive way.

Saturdays UPS driver was a woman who got to work the over time per her hours. She didn't want to drive in the drive way because it was wet and very muddy looking. She is supposed to get a reprimand for not walking rhe package to the door if she was afraid of getting stuck. Yes I did file a complaint with UPS and also informed the seller of the Fisher F 22 that I could have waited a few days and claimed I didn't get the decetor and want to know where it was, they were not happy to ear that either.

As for Fed X the worsed deliver company in my area. Backed into my big honey house prompting me to plant a huge rock to guard it

How you can not see a big building I sure don't under stand.

Another time they decided not to turn around and backed out and hit my mail box post.
Now it has a list to the south.

We at one time had a USPS driver who would not deliver mail to the box because it looked muddy and she was afraid she would get stuck. After I raised holy **ll with the post master she started leaving out mail at the neighbours. Raised **ll again with the post master and he said to call him next time it happened so I did. Yet it didn't stop and he denied I called so I just told him it was the last time I was going to mess with him. If he didn't get it fixed I would be talkiing to the State post master amd if that failed I would hit the US postmaster in Washington. Low and Behold we got a new mail carrier and really nice guy and we always get out mail.

I also do not text people, I do not have face book twitter or any of that other stuff.

Any way I do have thr Fisher F 22 and am trying to learn how to use it. Some day I will find that grab hook I know roughly where it should be.

You make me feel bad.
I'm reading along, shaking my head at a guy that the most exciting thing going on in his life, worthy of writing about is that his $300 metal detector can find spent and rotted shotgun shells. Then I realized that so far today, all I've accomplished to day is read about someone locating old spent shells. As Red Green once said, " If you catch yourself talking about the price of hammer handles, it's time to shut up." I guess it's time for me to get something worthwhile done.

Well I am just a beginner but there are people out there paying a couple thousand dollars on a metal detecter. they are mostly retired guys like my self and are not trying to find that million dollar pot of gold.
Some want to find civil war relics, some just want to find any coin people drop at flea markets and fairs and other events where people go.
Along the way they pick up beer pull tabs, pop pulltabs and other trash people are to lazy to put in a trash can.

Yes yesterday all I found in about an hour back in my woods with a machine I am just learning to use on my own I found two shot gun shell hulls. I was out side in that time and enjoyed the sun shine along with picking a tiny bit of trash and put it where it belonged in a trash can.

A cheap better decetor

WELL DA!!!!! I will stop looking once found so stands to reason will be the last place I look. Looking for it gives me some thing to look for i know was lost and seems not to be any where I thought.
I am guessing the rope I had the hook tied to had froze to the tire and the hook fell off yet the rope held for a while before coming loose.

But I will start looking for other things too. Later in the evening just playing around I found a valve from a car/truck/tractor engine about 4 inches deep in the dirt. Funny the signal I was getting I thought it would be a chunk of wire. Thing was barely rusted to, I have not thrown any valves away so it wasn't from me either.

Also found a Alum post top for a chain link fence post. It was a couple inches deep and pitted pretty good. Don't know where that came from either. Also a chunk of metal that looks like it had been melted and poured out a few inches down.
