I have a guy want to buy some things I have for sale. He wants to use Paypal so he can make payments. I am not a business, but understand that Paypal will charge me 3% to 4% fee.
So tell me about this friends and family thingie. Or point me in the right direction to read about it.
Let him "make payments" in cash to you, and you hold the goods until it's paid in full.
Put all the details in writing and both of you sign each copy.
Or just tell him no and sell the stuff to someone else who can actually afford it.
My son likes to use paypal (my account) for his allowance and having me pay some small online charges he does. The paypal friends and family is free/no fees. You can go to their webpage for a little more information.
I only asked about the amount because if you did have to incur fees, you may want to tack them onto the price.
Be aware that if you let him pay with the friends and family Paypal option, there is no sellers or buyers protection. Best to tack the 3% fee onto the cost of the item and run it through as a sale.
There are no transfer fees for friends and family from either the sender or receiver. But it cannot be used to pay for goods or services. If you are selling and buying, then the fees need to be paid. That also protects both parties during the transaction.
Now I understand -I pay fees, minimal, (and fees for currency exchange, steep,) because I am in Sweden and my daughter is in Denmark.
Using Paypal within Sweden would not be a solution I would choose. Bank transfer would be much more sensible.
Rereading your original message and I see he wants to use PayPal credit so he can make.payments? I'm guessing it would have to go through as a business transaction that way. I haven't seen an option to transfer cash to friends and family with the payments option. So like a app said just figure out the fees and. Tac it on to the price.
Many people like this option because it provides a record of transaction. My company uses PayPal exclusively. There would be no fee for you to receive the money. No chance of getting rolled for cash, and the money is available darn near instantly. . Personally I believe your safe with PayPal transactions for the most part. Good job being diligent. The scammers are everywhere.
