Tea or Coffee in the morning?

What’s your drink first thing in the morning?

I’m a coffee kind of gal. Not particularly fussy though I like what I like. I don’t need to grind or roast my own beans. Just use a very good drip maker with Kirkland Colombian blend because chemex and presses are too much of a pain first thing in the am for me. I want a nice big pot in a thermal carafe.
Living in the northwest we have coffee stands on most corners. That’s good too, as is Starbucks and I don’t mind the occasional gas station coffee for medicinal purposes.

I like tea, lots of kinds but I always have way more Red Rose tea bags than I need because I’m a sucker for those cute little china figurines. Go figure.
But I don’t drink tea in the morning, nor every day. Just an occasional cup if I’m trying to stave off hunger pangs or just in the mood for it.

What’s your poison?

I drank a half of a cup of coffee back in the 80's. I did not like it so I quit. I like iced tea sweetened with saccharin and not too much of that but what I really love is Lipton Diet Green Tea. I keep a 12 pack in my truck and one in my wife's car plus I have a dorm refrigerator out in my shop/barn that is fully stocked with green tea. I drink water when we go out to eat, Golden Corral charges $2.50 for tea or any soft drink. I am not stingy but that is expensive to me. I drank 1/2 of a beer in 1997 I did not care for it either so that was my last one";^).
I keep a pitcher of water in the frige in the house. We have great tasting water from our well so that is my main drink.
I still love Diet Mountain Dew but I limit them to special occasions, too much stuff that "they" say in bad for me. I know it is probably about like drinking the green tea but I feel better about the green tea.

Espresso roast, French press usually.. lazy mornings or if there's more than just me having a cup, I use a drip.. Hazelnut creamer! I like hot tea occasionally, in the evenings.. peppermint, Sleepytime, Bengal Spice is good with heavy cream and a bit of brown sugar!!

I drink one cup of organic medium dark roast with about a fourth a cup of warmed lactose free milk, a tablespoon of coconut oil, Ceylon cinnamon. When I get to school, while the student have breakfast, I have a hot cup of nettle tea with half a lemon , at the students snack time, I have kombucha, at the students lunch time, I have a thermos of hot green tea with the other half of lemon. I always have a bottle of water with me.

If I did not drink these at times I do and waited till I got home, I would be peeing all night. I too drink water when I am out to eat.

I know I am high maintenance, but I am also on no meds....just vitamins at each meal.

Currently, one cup of coffee in the morning with lot of sweetner and cream. However......

For YEARS I drank Morning Thunder tea for breakfast, until my brother moved in and after a couple months came home with a coffee pot.

Now, I've found a nice tea shop...started off with Lapsang Suchong and some Chamomile. Got a feeling I'll be changing back to tea for my morning drink, and mostly, I don't like ANYTHING in my tea.

For the morning route we have an arrangement! I get up first and stoke up the fire and put her kettle on to boil for Red Rose or Orange Pekoe tea, while that water is getting hot I make my coffee (dark roast these days) when all is ready we sit and enjoy together. Then I go take care of the animals (water/feed etc) while she makes the breakfast - (fried egg sandwich!) and she gets the second round of tea and coffee ready, usually just in time as I come in the door and take off the winter clothes. Then we chat and enjoy the hot bevies, and the company. Life is good.
