Got up as usual, about 3:00am. Took a nap thenwoke up to fixed breakfast. I really like the (John's) maple syrup flavored Sauage patties to go with my eggs and home made toast. Got ready, went out and got in the Blue blind I had rebuilt in the front yard. Along about 7:30 AM a couple of does came sneeking down along the creek then shortly there after the squirrels got active scampering around and screaming at a bunch of nothing way I saw it.

First time setting in the rebuilt blind on the ground, decided it's view needed adjusted. About 10:00 I went in and got ready to go walk the dogs with Kare and get them fed. After that I jumped on the Bota with the chain saw went out to the blue blind and adjusted its view. Cut down a few dead Elm trees between the blind and the creek got it cut in fire wood size to take to the basement.

By then I figured it had to be getting late so checked in the house to see it was noon and Kare was about ready to leave for her family dinner. Mom passed this spring so that should be somber affair.

I had bought a bone in turkey breast on sale on Monday that was froze. I just stuck it in the fridge to thaw when we got home and it did that just fine. That breast even came with the back plus it had to have came off a 30 pound turkey it was so huge.

I split the back off and put it in a pot of water with seasoning and garlic cloves, Boned out the breast and decided that half was going to be a lot even for me but I decided to give it a try. I butter flyed it pounded it about 1/2 inch thick and put it to frying. Steamed some rice with butter and garlic and added some turkey gravey when it had finished steaming. Then cut some Brussel sprouts off the stalk and steamed those after I cut them in half.
Sat down and ate.

Remembered the turkey rolls Russ used to bring to deer camp Thanks Giving. The home made bread stuffing that Glen always brought, best stuffing i have ever ate. The cranberrys we picked down in the bog and fixed, I, to tell the truth was not real crazy about those sour things and always added a half pound of sugar to my serving. We always ate well on Thanks giving up there.

One year my daughter's family drove there from Minnesota and Kare came and we had thanks giving at the hotel restaurant that was good, but I did miss the guys too.
Feeling melancholy I went and got my stach of McMasters and fixed a drink in remembrance of friends of yester year.

All in all a good day.

:D Al
