I think Rand Paul should enter an amendment making it legal to buy prescription meds from certain pharmacies in Canada, Mexico, and India. That would lead to a huge drop in drug prices.
I have COPD, smoked too long before I quit. Not bad enough for Oxygen tank, but breathing difficulties. Dr has me on Spireva, Advair, Albuterol Nebulizer and every 3 mos a cortisone shot. Spireva is like $285, Advair is $350 or so, insurance co-pays are $45 for each, Albuterol is super cheap 75 cent co-pay. I buy Spireva from Australia for $43, Advair $83 same package Instead of Smith, Kline,Glasgow US it says Glasgow UK for manufacture, same two tone purple container even. Free shipping. Other meds are similar. SO my question is why can they be purchased overseas for less than the insurance copays in the good old USA. Graft and corruption? I have been doing this for three years with no illl effects, after I hit the doughnut hole in Medicare coverage the first time.
We used to buy our drugs from http://www.bigmountaindrugs.com/. There was a flat $ 10.00 shipping fee for your entire order. You also get discounts that can apply to your next order. The drugs we got came from India, Turkey and UK. We got the drugs within 2 weeks after placing an order. You do have to have a prescription from your Dr. though.
Since we are in Mexico we just walk right in and get what ever we want without a prescription
I just cannot see anyone being (un smart) enough to purchase drugs from India or China. That is were my pharmacist says all the bad drugs/artificial/fake drugs come from. I have known pharmacist for 50 years and believe she is telling the truth.
Your pharmacist is sadly mistaken. As long as you buy from a reputable pharmacy, the drugs are safe and are what they claim to be. I use a topical creme that my co-pay here is $47.00 for a 20 day supply. That same creme from All Day Chemist in India is $18.00 for a 60 day supply. Exact same item manufactured by Novartis in Germany.
One drug I get from the pharmacy my insurance uses is made in India. Ask your pharmacist about that -- Metformin manufactured by Ingenus and sold through US pharmacies.
Meanwhile, illegal drugs that often originate in war zones, have to be smuggled, payoffs made, are dirt cheap.
