The actual growers can tell you things I cannot because I work corporate and also deal with lots of other people's money. The confidentially agreement is mostly not to discuss other people's finances. They may not be able to let you in the houses due to quarantine restrictions since you have your own poultry. I think most companies are now trying everything they can to prevent the spread of poultry diseases. If you decide you are serious about getting in the business it might be worthwhile to go ahead and get rid of your personal poultry flock and work with a commercial flock for a while first. To me, having poultry houses is similar to having children. There really are no days off, there are times when you have to be up all night and then most of the next day, there's always something unexpected, and it's hard to find someone dependable to take care of them when you need to be gone.
