I love poblanos! They are just the best for making chile relleños! In general and especially while green they are a mild pepper, but they can become more spicy if allowed to ripen all the way to red. Just remove the ribs and stems and they should be fine. :)

I've never made my own Ro*Tel, but I can't see why you couldn't. :) You'd basically be canning up a salsa without the onions. I'd follow instructions for that and I'll bet it would be awesome!

Me, I'd be making those chile relleños. ;) Mmmmm!!!!

Not where I live in Terrebonne but we did in Tumalo where I work. The river was ready to flood and people were sand bagging their places. We have a river overflow ditch right behind the school where I park and IT was overflowing into the gym and cafeteria so had to sandbag the end of the ditch. Crazy weather is RIGHT!!! We got 30 in. here at my place with the big dump that we had!!!

Great! Was thinking they should be there about now. That amount came from two plants so you're looking at your future.... I'm getting ready to cut the stems off more and dry them.

I'm excited!!! We had our first hard frost this morning. I covered up my tomatoes and tomatillos though and they are fine. Everything else is done. I forgot that I still had 6 non-growing (grrrrr) peppers out but the frost didn't even touch them! I covered them tonight and then am going to pot them up and bring inside for the winter and see what happens. :)
