We need to know where you can sell copper in Alabama? we bought "a lot" of things from a deceased man's estate and there were several copper items we would like to sell for recycling. We need somewhere in the birmingham area if possible.

Check the phone book you might have A can man there. Or try Alabama metals. They buy scrap . Try looking into the area. Where folks sell cans at .

our can folks only took aluminum and the only one in our county is out of business. We are next to Jefferson County so that's why I thought Birmingham....but Jasper wouldn't be too far....

You might try calling ahead to wherever you're planning on taking it and make sure you don't have to have some kind of license or permit. Down here, copper theft is so pervasive that a lot of the scrap yards are asking for proof of where you got the copper from. I think that is probably if you have a large amount, but to be safe, I'd call ahead anyway and ask. Might save you a wasted trip.

    Suzy,

There's a place in Pinson. If you coming down 79 go past where 75 runs into it about a mile. It's on the right before you get to the Tire Outlet. They take all kinds of metal. The company my son works for in Mississippi sold a ton of brass shavings to them. Sorry I can't remember the name of it but it's on the right if headed south settin off the road a couple of blocks.
