    Welcome to the forum.

    I enjoyed your youtube video!

I would really enjoy starting a homestead from scratch and admire two people with limited experience willing to jump in and figure it out as they go.

To prevent mistakes and save you time and money you can find answers to any of your building related questions in the construction sub forum.

    Wonderful video, great work.

And ignore Farmboybill, because Bill if people wanted you to know where the live they would tell you, otherwise that is their business.

    Chris,

The Foreman is doing a great job keeping things on track.

I am curious about a few things, if you don't mind some questions.

Tyvek is an amazing product, and is an excellent insulation product. Given its high "R" factor, why use additional fiberglass insulation in the walls?

Why did you choose a sloped roof vs a traditional roof, which might have got you extra inside storage or loft / bedding space?

Why did you not build in an exterior fireplace, so that you could have more living space?

Perhaps I missed it in the video, but what is your final cost per sq ft?

Lastly, did you draft your building plans, or purchase them?
