We live just North of Houston, Texas. My husband purchased a Jersey mix cow many years ago at a sale barn, but have never been able to find anyone else around here that has any Jerseys or Guernseys for a home milk cow. If you know of anyone that would sell a heifer calf please let me know.
    Thanks

Thanks. Wish I could get over to NM. I would love to have the one that is bred to calve in May.

Anybody else know of anything in Texas?

Yep...we have some Jersey's and 1 Guernsey cross (who is milking). I don't know if we would part with her (have to check with my wife). I can usually find cows or heifers for family use. Be prepared to spend $800-$1000 for a good, healthy cow, though. Young Jersey heifer calves, if you can get a dairy to part with them, will cost about $750-$850 for a 3-4 month old. I would recommend the latter than buying from a dairy. Still, I could probably find you one. You can contact us and we'll try to help.

There is a Jersey Dairy just south of Navasota, off of Hwy 6, near White Hall. All his stock is registered, and I think his heifers are $400. Farmer's name is Art, if you want the phone number I can hunt it up. His bottle bulls start at $80. Persistance is the key in this area, because most of the dairies are up further north in Tx.
