If no extra smaller pieces available, I'm betting Angie will be willing to divide her piece with Karen, and that way we will all get a little piece.
Please include a note regarding this when you mail--just to remind this old lady of this conversation

I also sent some extra pieces since I had cut them so there will definitely be enough. My order for the broccoli material was just under $3.00 short of a min. that would have ended with me paying an extra $3 fee so I ordered a 1/4 yd of kiwis. I cut them and sent 3 (I think) so you may use them for Prairiegirl if you need to.
Oh, btw, :banana02: mine went in the mail today :banana02: . I am not in the room where the confirmation # is so I will try to put it in tomorrow.

Thank you for your offer.
We, actually, have lots of "extra" so everyone will get the correct volume of fabric.
The idea is more that evryone can have a sample of each print.

Tallpines, I will be happy to take smaller pieces if you need someone to. I intend to have several size jars, not all 'uniform' looking, but more of a hodge-podge quilt (like my shelf!)
I know you said there was plenty, but just so you know, I can take half pieces, no problem.

You are all so very kind...........just what one would expect from quilt swappers. I'm so honored to be apart of the jar swap. I appreciate all the offers to cover my shortage, but there's no need. I have the fabric and it's in the dryer. Yippee! 4 more to cut and I can send my squishy to Tallpines. I have a couple of extra pieces to include so sounds like there will plenty of suprises for everyone.
prairiegirl...........who's shivering here in N.Indiana where winter has snuck back for a few days. Yep, cold, blustery winds and snow flurries.

Caroline---------
Still not here
Prairie-----glad you found more of your fabric-----with my luck, the bolt would have been empty.
Several years back I attended a "Quilt in a Day" class with a dozen other ladies.
One of them ran short of fabric and was just sick about it as it was something she had in her stash for a couple of years. To try to fit a similar print to fit in just wasn't working out very well.
I kept telling her, I thought I maybe had some of that same fabric in my stash. She was very doubtful that it would be an exact match.
Guess what----it was the EXACT same stuff and she was able to finish her quilt with great satisfaction.
I made a new friend that day

I didn't have any luck finding what I was looking for while I was in the neighboring towns
I didn't even find any jar quilt kind of material, and when I asked at the shops if they had any, they all told me that they had never even heard of a "jar quilt" I'm glad I bought what I did when I did. So......Mine will be in the mail the next time I go to town and the post office is open.

I talked to my post office today. She says you should have gotten it yesterday but the confirmation is delivery confirmation and doesnt have to be scanned by anyone until they scan at the mailbox it is being put in.
Honestly, the only time I use priority is in the swaps because it is required. My mother left a cosmetics case at my house once and it had toiletries and meds in. I sent it priority because she is in her 80s and I had her meds...
It took 15 working days to get to CA from MO. Reg mail is generally 3-4 days. They xrayed it before putting it on the plane and found cuticle scissors and a metal nail file and they stamped it as not airworthy... apparently they made it walk to CA.
At that time, I was told that there was no guarantee that it would get therer quicker... it is just usually the way it works out...

Nothing today, either!
Caroline,
How did you fasten your labels?
Now that you've mentioned the x-ray showing cuticle scissors on a different package, I'm wondering if you used Stick Pins.............and I wonder if someone got STUCK?
We usually have very good mail service on our end--------my DH is a mail carrier and he is bewildered over the length of time your package is taking!

I spoke with Derek at USPS Customer Servive.
He says Priority Mail is no guarantee for faster service .
He says if it has not arrived by April 14, I should call again and they will attempt to trace it.

Caroline's package arrived!
HOWEVER
It was all wrapped up and sealed in a clear cellophane type wrap with 2 stickers on it saying it was damaged in transit---Apologies from the USPS.
It smells VERY STRONG to a heavy duty Pinesol type of cleaning solution.
I'm wondering if another parcel broke, spilling this Pinesol type cleaner on the package. Or, perhaps, it was soiled with something else, and the post office attempted to clean it with a Pinesol kind of substance.
Anyway---its here.
The fabric LOOKS to be fine (by the way, very nice selection of prints )------but everything, including the fabric has this strong smell.
It's got me sneezing!
I considered tossing it into my washing machine, but, then I thought about all the threads that would fray from the raw edges.
For now, I'm just going to let it air out.
If it still smells quite strong when its time for mailing, I may put each bundle into a plastic sandwich bag before mailing it out, so the smell doesn't filtrate into the other fabrics. Then you can each rinse out your own pieces if you find the odor troubling.

oh my! It makes me wonder what happened...
It didnt smell like anything other than maybe tide/no fabric softener when I mailed it...
Sorry about it all. Hopefully, when we all get it, it will wash out.... was there money in the package? was there an unstamped envelope in it?
