got mine today these are really fun can't wait to get the time to put it together Thank You Tallpines for setting this up and hostessing it for us it was a wonderful swap
|
My squishy arrived in Oregon today!!! My granddaughter and I had so much fun looking at all the different fabrics. She said "Don't start it without me Grandma!" (she is 4 years old) Everyone was so generous with their fabrics! THANKYOU EVERYONE!!! And especially TallPines for organizing the swap!!! I didn't smell any Pinesol either :)
|
I was surprised when I went to the box today! I kind of forgot about this with it being seperated from the other threads. The fabric's great. Thanks everyone for sending in all the variety and to Diane for doing all the hard work!
I set aside the triple Irish Chain I was sewing on and started "canning". When this was started I was trying to figure out where I would hang it when done and it never occured to me until I was looking at the fabrics today that I decided to make it to fit my pantry door. BTW, Karen, you had the best name tag on yours! So creative! |
Mine's here! Beautiful stuff! I can't wait to get started -- if I ever find the time!
Thanks everyone, especially Tallpines! |

What a good idea about the pantry door! I was trying to figure out where I was going to put mine too and now I KNOW! Thanks for the idea Terri!!!
|
Caroline, Caroline!
Can you believe it! Considering that your package took 9 days to arrive here, and then arrived with a "Damaged in transit label. Apologies of USPS"---------can you believe this message I got when checking your Confirmation Delivery number for the RETURN trip? "Your item was misrouted. The error has been corrected and every effort is being made to deliver it as soon as possible. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later." |
Another Amish Quilt Auction in the morning!
I can almost smell the homemade super fresh cinnimon rolls already! I hope all of you have your Squishy's by the time I get home :) |
Although it is late (working on nephew's graduations mailing for tomorrow), I found my mail box stuffed earlier today and almost ran to the house to my "surprise". Had to show off all the materials to my aunt (major quilter) who has been waiting as excitedly as I have and she wasn't even in the swap. Beautiful material ladies. I couldn't imagine how long it would take trying to search for all these different ones to make such a unique quilt as this will turn out to be.
|
Received my Squishy yesterday. Wow! What neat, unique material. Some colors are so vivid. Thanks Tallpines.
|
My squishy came today! What a marvelous variety of fabrics! There were things in there I'd not even seen 'window shopping' on the web. Thanks ladies.
And thank you tallpines! Halo |
It's here. It's here!!! Had to look at all the fabrics first--oohing and aahing over each one. Now to decide what goes in "Granny's Cupboard" first.
Thanks everyone and tallpines--a Big thank you for starting this. (p.s.--thanks for using a photo of the little cupboard I did for you. I forgot to take a picture of it!!) |

According to the Delivery Confirmation tracking, it seems everyone but Tami has had their Squishy "delivered".
Please post here to tell me you have ACTUALLY "received' it. |

Thank you so much! |

Thanks for reminding me........I've mentioned it before but since I took the liberty to scan the tiny Jar Quilt Billie sent to me, I must make sure everyone knows it it Billie's creation! I merely scanned it to make my name tags! I received so many wonderful extras from several of you! I truely appreciate ALL of THEM! And I truely appreciate ALL of YOU! You All had a hand in making this swap a wonderful success! :) |
They are wonderful!! Can't wait to start putting them together! Great selection ladies; and boy, there's a bunch of them!!
Thanks again Diane for all your hard work! I truly appreciate you! |
I just looked thru them :)
They are all beautiful! ummm... I loved the children...this has been one of those weeks... I would love to stuff my children in a jar for awhile :) |
I just went thru the whole stack and so many pretty fabrics. I really like this.
Ladies I think we all did very well and all deserve    Angie |
I've opened my squishy and love all the fabrics. Can't wait to start on my quilt. Thanks to all.
|
Got my squishy late Saturday! My 2 youngest and I 'ooohhh' and 'ahhhh'd throught the stack! (it was fun!!! ) Great material! and both kids were trying to get the quilt ( I want this one in my quilt) (no, this is for my quilt!) lol!
Can't wait to get started on it! (by the way, informed the kiddo's this is MY quilt!) |
Not to put any pressure on anyone!!!!-----but I already have my jars cut out and pinned onto my 2 cupboards that I already had pieced and waiting!!! (had Sunday all to myself--Bill was downtown at the Art & Jazz Festival demonstrating stone carving). Have barely used any fabric so I have designed a picnic quilt and bag and have some rumblings in my head about what to do with what may be left over.
|
showoff! :D
I received mine today and am refusing to even open it until I finish these summer dresses for my girls. The minute I see something fun to do, the necessary sewing becomes drudgery, LOL, so I am keeping it sealed up for a reward! |
Quote:
There is "absolutely" no way I could not open it up. I have been waiting for this for 2 years!!! No way, no how, it's open! This will be the first finished product of any swap I've done here in 6 years! |
ummm,,, Billie,,,, you do realize that the penalty for finishing the quilt first is you have to immediately post pictures???? :baby04:
Wish I had time on my hands, so I could sit down and quilt.... maybe soon. |
I got back from MD today, and sitting with all the other mail was my package of fabric
Unlike some of you who have much more will power than I do, I opened it right up! And love it all!!! Thanks for making my first swap so much fun, I can't wait to start working it!!! |
hmmm...we have 7 finished quilts from swaps... my daughters each have one (the pastel spring flower) and I have 4 (one of them, I am currently working on needs one more border)
I believe I am going to start and finish the spring flower with the black background quilt before even thinking of starting this one. And my boys want me to put together 2 western quilts (Michael was in the swap and Jacob has his eye on my blocks) |
Squishy Package arrived in Utah!
I have recieved the most wonderful package ever! This has to be the best quilt
fabric I have ever swapped. Each piece is so gorgeous and looks just like the stuff I bottle each year. Thanx to all who joined in on this one. |
I received my squishy late Saturday afternoon. I thought I would take a quick peek while I filled the cows water tank. I thought maybe 5 minutes. Several minutes (ok about 20 min.) I jumped up and remembered the water. Yep, I gave them a pool to splash in. I just got so caught up in the squishy. I knew approximately how many squares were coming, but it seemed like there were so many more. And, WOW! they are beautiful. With so many different blocks I've decided to rethink my jar quilt.
All I can say is "thank you" "thank you" "thank you" prairiegirl |
[QUOTE=mamajohnson]ummm,,, Billie,,,, you do realize that the penalty for finishing the quilt first is you have to immediately post pictures???? [QUOTE]
Oh dear, I guess I'm in BIG trouble then!!! Not a clue how to do that!!!! Oh, dear, oh, dear................. |
BEAUTIFUL!!!
As soon as I get my in-laws outta my house I HAVE to get busy! I have to finish son #3's quilt.. then the flannel quilt promised that to son #4...... then the T-shirt quilt for my sister.... sigh... Then this one is MINE ALL MINE!! lol maybe I'll get it done by the time I'm 80. |
I was not here when the package came. I was up in the mountains of Wyoming. (Beautiful country, by the way, I was ready to go home, get my clothes and move there!) When I got home my son said all the mail ws on the table. The very first thing I opened was the squishy!
Beauuuutiful! Thanx ladies for all the neat fabric! I knew in my head how many we were getting, but it just seemed like so much more. Gonna be a great quilt! or quilts! So I'm not sure what day it got here, but it is here. Thanx again to everyone. Yankee |
I just took time and sat down and looked at them all real well (at least I think I did. I know that the next time I look at them, I will notice something new...there is just sooooooo much in that squishy)
Thank you everyone for all the extras... Thank you Billie for all the cats :) It will look like my pantry :) |

Folks - sorry I have not touched base, my package is here and all the fabric is beautiful. There is a ton of stuff going on at this time and I have not felt up to getting on the computer. Long stories but I'm surviving it. I can tell you that you all are wonderful and your packages have reminded me that there is good in this life and brought a smile to my face. I'll be back in touch when things settle down here.
Thanks again for all the beautiful fabric. |
Praying for you.
|
Tami - sorry that you are having a rough time of it.
We will be looking for you back in the group when you get on the other side of this difficulty. Praying for a good conclusion to your difficult times. Angie |
Just got back from a vacation to the U.S. & Canadian Rockies & then back down thru Yellowstone. Last night I really got to look at my "future" jar pieces. They are wonderful. Thanks to all of you. While in Canmore, Alberta, where we camped, went to a really great Quilt Shop. I found some wood-grained material that I think I'll use to make the shelves for my jars.
This shop was really great. If any of you get that way try to visit; you'll love it. |
I think my sewing machine will be inactive most of the busy summer.
If anyone is making any progress on their Jar Quilt, please, tell us about it. And maybe even post a picture or two of your work in progress :) |
