All this above sounds like me. Nerve damage, massive muscle scarring in my shoulders. I am in pain always. Last night, I got to bed at 1130, which is normal. I laid awake until 130, then woke up 5 times in the night because my neck hurt. Up at 630. Thats life. My joints hurt, my back hurts, yet I work hard all day long. If I sit around all day, I hurt worse, ironically.
I try to get sleep, but it doesn't often work, even though I am so tired when I go to bed.
I dont limit my foods though. I eat very little processed and drink raw goats milk, but I have morning coffee, I eat meat, I eat breads. Maybe I shouldn't, but to not have a good meal would be agony to me.

Get to know what is growing in your vicinity.
Nature provides much in the way of pain relievers, we just need to be able to recognize it and know how to utilize it.
For instance;
Willow (Salix alba) part used: Bark
relieves pain, reduces fever, reduces inflammation.

From my experience Willow bark works much better than Aspirin (synthetic salicylic acid), Meadowsweet also works better than aspirin and can be taken more often.... willow bark too
Aspirin 'can' cause bleeding in the stomach Willow and Meadowsweet will not, in fact I've seen it written that willow can help stop bleeding in the stomach.

The Poppy's have been mentioned...what else can one find in nearby nature for pain relief? What can you plant for the future?

I've got Meadowsweet, Passion flower and Skullcap seeds coming in the mail.

I'm also dealing with post Shingles pain (3 years now) I'm working with Comfrey oil, Arnica oil, St. John's Wort oil and tincture...and Meadowsweet tincture.
