Sounds wonderful, perhaps next year. I have family in TN and friends in IN so maybe I'll make it next year on a round robin trip. Would love to meet some of you guys in person! So much to learn and talking/doing with others is the best way to learn. Hands on with dirt under the fingernails, oh yeah!

I would have so loved to have been there, but have a college road trip planned that could not be changed for next weekend. With the price of gas right now, one had to go.
I was looking forward to meeting with you all.

Hope you had a wonderful time!

The FOOD! There were so many nom-nom foods!!

No one asked for soap making lessons, never got around to putting supers on the hives. A lot of tours to the gardens, herb exchanges, trips out to the barn and north pasture.

Ernie was in charge of the spitted lamb (thanks, Ernie for bringing it down Friday so we could brine it overnight!), until he had to boogie home, then FR & Jacob took over.

FR spent a lot of his free time with the picker and drum carder, keeping JDog readily supplied in batts for spinning.

JDog spins too slow.

GREAT weekend, otherwise.

It grieves me that so many here deny themselves the experience.....

Oh, yeah...... Ernie. That lamb was awesome. Make another one just like it for next time.

Wish we lived closer, sounds wonderful! We have entertained the possibility of hopping a train next year and visiting relatives in Iowa and then slip over into Illinois for homestead frolicking. I've heard tell there's a John Deere museum? back there that my husband would love to drool through.

10K,
There is a JD museum across the river in Moline, IL (about 50 miles or so west of us). About 40 minutes east of us is the JD homestead.

It is always so much fun to have like-minded folks here.

Here's some pics from another attendee (She also visited Red Brick Farm, Icelandic sheep, and took pictures there)
