Well it hit 32 degrees today! and Petunia popped out a boy and girl....Hanna is having small contractions...5 house babies...we've trained the first set of twins Herman and Hermione to follow us down to the barn to visit momma goat...all 5 are black babies with some white with the exception of Petunia's boy who is very moon spotted just like mom (black nubian with brownish pink patches) we've named the single from Michelle... Black Eard.

Petunia's udder is a sight to behold....very well built. I've had her up on the stand already to steal off some colostrum.

Hanna is a mom!
A girl first then an I don't know what...mis shaped one eared runt of a thing that was put into a grain sack...it was breathing but REALLY not right...my first odd ball in 10 yrs...it happens...
Hanna was BIG so I'll check in a bit to see if there is a 3rd...and let #1 nurse

I may get to sleep thru the night tonight! Petunia's babies nursed well!

Cute. Boy or girl?
I had to move my kids back inside. They are in the shower stall for now. This is a very unusually cold and long cold spell.

It's fun to hear about all your babies, but I'm glad my does aren't due for (hopefully) another couple of months yet! The weather hasn't been all that bad, cold at night but pretty nice during the day. But my grandmother had a heart attack a couple of weeks ago -- she's recovering, and home, after several days in the hospital. We've had a ton of company, some help, some are just here to visit with Grandma, and baby goats right now would be more than I want to deal with! (Especially as I do bottle-feed, normally.) If I'm right about when the does got bred, our first kids won't be due until early April. I'm still milking Sugar (half Alpine and half Oberhasli) and her 3/4 Ober daughter Sage, but they'll need to be dried off by the end of February. Sky, the baby doe, should be the first to kid, so hopefully we won't be without milk for too long. She and the buck are reg. Oberhasli. At least the chickens are starting to lay again, so when we don't have milk, we do have eggs!

Daughter said a boy and by the size and width of forehead I'd guess a boy...we brought him in by the stove for an hour and then took him out for some colostrum and he nursed very well on both sides....Ivy has had nothing but boys! but her last lactation was 20 months.

I did lose the old lady doe that hadn't bred in a couple years...I think the cold and pregnancy was too much...she had her dinner and was dead the next morning...in the sleeping position...

Mocha, Snoopy, March(scoliosis but had one kid and milked for 20 months, walks normal) left...

OK, I gotta ask, why are you going by the forehead and not checking the bottom end?

Daughter found him and checked his "parts" I havent seen him scooch to pee and his tote is wet so I'd bet....I'm having a real pain in the neck day(woke up with a kink/sore throat)...so bending over isn't working so well!
As far as looking at the forehead...boys are wider-- girls are daintier if you ask me...just a strange thing I've learned to judge...but yes I do check to be sure:-)

The flu has been all around me and I fear it found me....

Hope you get to feeling better. Lots of vit D3 and C should help. Take it early.

I have been on vit.d and calcium for a week and made spaghetti sauce from homegrown canned tomatoes but...my 15yo daughter was sick all last week and hugged on me a million times and even slept in my bed when she was real sick....ugh....but I made her go to the barn everyday! (cold air makes snot flow) and it builds work ethic!
