It DID send it flying for about 40 ft, and expanded to about 4 times it's original diameter.
I also shot an empty charcoal lighter can with a 44 Special and the bullet hit the rolled edge at the top.
The can went flying out across a field, and when I went to set it back up, I saw the can had wrapped around the bullet, and it was still caught there

Yup they are hollow or the ones we use have to hollow spots so they can inject a caulk to balance the pin..
You should see what you can make with them on a lathe..
WARNING wear long leather sleeves and a good face mask till you get all the plastic off the outside...  Experience talking here...
You can turn some nice goblets from them..
