You read my mind.

I find Rolands world to be incredible
Great series. But I'm not sure I would want to be the only female, since she had to deal with all those personalities.

I agree with Frannie on the stand.

I've thought of another one - Star Trek, the counselor's mom - Lwaxana. Another woman with pizazz and style.

Best answer EVAH. There's no better prep than the will to survive, and ingenuity to use what you've got in a completely new and unexpected circumstance.

And if you can look fabulous while you're doing it, well that's just showing off.

But I also love the kid in "My Side of the Mountain." Part of me would still like to live in a hollow tree and raise a pet hawk to hunt for me. Hopefully it won't come to that.

OrganicCat Nice calls. I'll copy your types as follows:

A human form replicator

The Ai from VIRUS

or I'll one up you F'lar or his brother F'nor dragon riders from Pern

Actually, I would like to be Robinton from the Pern series. Post threadfall of course so I would be propperly respected and kept in the very best Benden White Wine!

Almost any female character in almost any of Heinlein's books (Just finished The moon is a Harsh Mistress!) Wouldn't mind being a Loonie during/after the book. Also wouldn't mind being one of Lazarus Long's g-g-g-g-granddaughters! For those of you who think he was sexist, his books show an incredible honesty about one thing -- he didn't understand women! Most man won't, but also won't admit it!

Or a female character in David Weber's Honor Harrington series, but only on certain planets!

Any Narnia character (Female here, too, sorry!)

The first three are post-apocalypse, many centuries post-apocalypse, the last is not.

I would not want to be in The Postman, mainly because I cannot believe that in a group of 50 (or more) people, there was not one of them willing to even think about fighting their "protectors!"
You could be a female dragon rider, either a queen rider or Mirrim who rode a green.

I loved those books. The harper Hall Trillogy was also great.

Excellent choice. Mal was a great character.

I even read the Harper Hall Trillogy! They are some of my favorite books. I can't wait to read them to my kids for bed time stories!
