Dealing with the holidays....

I tried to limit the goodies we have for over Christmas.

I did buy a small apple pie and a small chocolate cake as the kids wanted goodies. I thought I was pretty self controlled.

The rest of the treats I bought was more healthy stuff like tabouli, hummus, lots of fresh veggies etc....

It is hard to stay on your diet over the holidays.

How is everyone else doing?

Not doing well here. The combination of the holidays, the shortened days, and the continual rain and windstorms we've been having have really knocked me off track. I've found myself just not caring if I eat well, exercise, or do much of anything. I know a big part of it is SAD, and my MD started me on a higher dose of my meds for it, so it should be kicking in soon. I think I'll just relax and enjoy the rest of the season, and make a fresh start the start of the New Year. Hope everyone else is doing better than I am!

i'm doing ok. eating a few too many goodies, but keeping my basic portion sizes under control. it helps that i don't like many of the standard goodies around here. the kids won't be here for christmas, so we'll have christmas dinner after christmas-a ham, fresh sweet taters, green beans, homemade bread, and a pumpkin pie, maybe an apple pie. that's about it. i did get quite a bit of dark chocolate from my students (gotta love small schools) that is in the freezer so i can eat one piece a day. it'll go back to school with me, to eat a piece a day at the end of every day.
