Missouri State Fair is forcing all clowns to undergo sensitivity

That’s a clown question, bro: Rodeo clowns asked to take ‘sensitivity training’

In the wake of a rodeo clown’s anti-Obama skit this weekend,

the Missouri State Fair is forcing all clowns to undergo sensitivity training.
The state fair commission voted Monday to ratify the decision to ban the clown in question who wore an Obama mask as the rodeo announcer asked if the crowd wanted to see him get run down by a bull. The crowd enthusiastically approved, according to local media reports.
But the state commission went further, saying it will require that before the Rodeo Cowboy Association can take part in any future state fair, “they must provide evidence to the director of the Missouri State Fair that they have proof that all officials and subcontractors of the MRCA have successfully participated in sensitivity training.”

Dh and I have a good friend who was a rodeo clown for 20 years before he retired.
Dh asked him last night what his take on all this nonsense was. He laughed himself silly, and said he was so glad he was retired. As the amount of non pc stuff they used to pull would just blow your mind. Back then people knew how to laugh at themselves.
Of course what do you expect, when there are no more winners in little league games, and little girls and boys get thrown out of school and slapped with sexual harassment charges for stealing a kiss on the kindergarten playground.

Not a week goes by without one of my co-workers coming into the office, complaining that some clown has cut him off in traffic or wouldn't stay in his lane or something else that just gums traffic up.

And then, one of your neighbor ladies said that some clown had spray painted the back of her fence.

Or son often gets lectured by teachers before assemblies because the teachers claim that they're worried that some clown is going to do something to ruin it for everyone.

I think that it's about time that clowns learn how to act.

Who would have dreamed that Missouri would be on the cutting edge of reforming social etiquette?

It wasn't the clown that caused all of that ruckus.. it was the announcer.
Yeah, the guy put on the mask, but the announcer just went crazy with it..
sheesh

Did they really expect high class humor from the guys who jump in front of angry bulls for a living?? And the guy who calls the action? Seriously? It's just gotten so overblown. Letterman and Leno and the like take swipes at the politicians on a daily basis and nobody's trying to send them to sensitivity school.

The Dems are milking it for all it's worth. Like I said in another thread about it, they are carrying on like a broke guy who just got rear-ended by a Mercedes limo. There's just so much pain and suffering!

I think the rodeo clowns ought to tell them to shove their sensitivity training. There's plenty of other gigs around.

Isn't "sensitive clown" an oxymoron?

Some people really have too much time on their hands.

On Tuesday, the Missouri State National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) issued a statement asking for federal involvement in the case of a rodeo clown who wore an Obama mask and then asked the crowd if they’d like to see Obama run down by a bull. “The activities at the Missouri State Fair targeting and inciting violence against our President are serious and warrant a full review by both the Secret Service and the Justice Department,” said State President Mary Ratliff.

Shouldn't it be the crowd that's required to take sensitivity training?

This sounds like a "state's rights" issue.

The only thing that the feds should be investigating,

is where in the heck does the State of Missouri get off

requiring ALL CLOWNS to get sensitivity training?

The clowns in Michigan and Texas will NOT be subject to the

laws that Missouri tries to impose on the rest of the nation!!!

THIS clown isn't stepping foot inside the 'show-me 'state again,

until they change their silly rules. Boycott them but good!

Join me fellow clowners . . . together, we can make a difference;

a little song . . . a little dance . . .

and a squirt of seltzer down their pants!

Too bad this was done as part of a clowning routine. If it had been part of a "performance art" display, it would have been considered another sacred cow, not just a bunch of bull! And regardless of how outrageous, would have been widely protected as freedom of artistic expression.

The few people I have known from Missouri don't seem like the type that put up with this PC garbage. Are the state fair commissioner positions appointed or elected? Hopefully they will ban together and send a clear message to their elected officials regarding wasting time on such silliness.

I agree on not attending the state fair at Sedalia. We will NOT be going any more. Taht is a lot of crap as far as I am concerned. Where is the fun in not having a clown. I have seen a lot worse then a clown there.

Yep .... excellent post here

If National Endowment for the Arts had a statue of a rodeo clown wearing an Obama mask and having a broom stick stuck somewhere.....

.... and done at tax payer expense to boot

Maybe if the clown in question would have thought out the implications of his actions before he decided to go rogue there wouldn't be a need for sensitivity training.

When it comes to politics, even in a red state like MO you can't do stuff like that. Anyone with a brain knows that.

Maybe instead of sensitivity training they ought to have common sense classes.

Kinda think the common sense classes should be done for the anal retentive crowd that are so horrified by the jokes.. But than again when a group of people deify a person they lose all sense of rationality.
