Louisiana is planning the exact same thing. My bet is Oklahoma and the other southern states through Kentucky and Tennessee might want to join too. Probably include Arkansas.

I've been on board with secession --long before this election. Realistically do you think it will happen? I'd be interested hearing time frames and logistics.

LOL...looks like it's the "people" taking the bull by the horns. Is anyone in the state government part of this, too?

When I said the Southern States through kentucky and Tennessee would have to include Alabama and Mississippi - otherwise you can't logically get there from Texas.

Kansas and Missouri might want to come along with Arizona there too, but we would have to figure out what to do with New Mexico as they are a Blue state - for what reason I can't fathom.

The problem would be what or how to include Wyoming, Utah, Montana, and the Dakotas.

I wonder what would happen if all the workers in these states all went on strike at the same time.

So, is each state going to have its own army? How are you going to protect your borders?

I got an idea for a new form of government...

Everyone has to strap on a hog leg and a bottle of whisky. Those will be the only two laws we'll have.

One of three things will happen..

Some people will become very proficient shots.

Other people will find out they should have learned to shoot instead of talk.

And the third group will ignore everything and be happy with a bottle in front of them....

Texas does have the right to vote itself out of the US. It was part of the treaty when Texas joined, because they were an independent nation.

They might have the right, but I don't think Unkle would be too hot on letting them flex that right.

I figure the folks of Georgia wouldn't be opposed to joining in on a new country.

No, Texas does not have and never had the right to secede. That was decided by the Civil War and Texas vs. White. Texas can break itself into 4 more territories and attempt to have those admitted to the union, through the proper constitutional process.

Well, since the Constitution does not mean much in Washington DC these day, I'd guess a state could secede if it wanted to by one means or another. Maybe their governor could just do his/her own EO!

because like CA & IL two urban areas (bernalillo county & las cruces) outvote the rest of the state.

My pastor and I were talking about this earlier today. He believes Idaho produces more than we consume, so we could pull it off. I'm not so sure. I know we have timber, wheat, canola, potatoes, corn, silver, gold (I think), and a seaport (as long as we had access to the Columbia), but not sure if that would be enough.

He is convinced the only way it could happen is if it were a peaceful secession with open borders, open trade, and dual citizenship. I think he has some valid points.

Oklahoma might have a say in that. Don't think they'd mind tho.
I saw that someone mentioned kansas and Missouri in one sentence. I think they forgot about the "border war" that still exist. Altho its played out in todays time on the gridiron and the basketball court,,, its very alive.
