Some Siberia type survival show

I have run across some Siberian type survival show. Don't know if real Siberian or if this is the new Survivor show.

I like their huts.

I think it's on ABC network

It's on NBC here and dh is watching it. It's like a reality survival show but isn't really a reality survival show if that makes sense. One of the things the announcer said was, "they think they are in a reality show.....but they aren't!" Kinda makes you wonder!

yea, I guess the station I was on was NBC.

And it didn't seem like the show "Survivors". Those cottages seemed decent. And they seem to be working together - or not .

I wonder what show it is.

I get the feeling that while this may not be scripted word for word, it is not a real, true reality show with actual contestants and unforeseen results. IMO the people are actors rather than contestants and the show will follow a previously planned course of events.

SPOILER ALERT - avert your gaze here if you don't want to know what happened!

I just watched it and I thought it was pretty cheesy. Nothing at all about the selection process or training/preparation. They set up contestants to be the bad girl, the nerdy guy, the loner, the good guy, the wimpy girl, etc.. The computer nerd with no obvious skills saved the day by using his thick eyeglass lens to start a fire faster than those bumbling about with a bow drill. Hmmm...a group of people who know nothing much about starting a fire know how to build a tinder nest and how to coax a coal into flame?

Then they very obviously set up the good guy with a "straying too far from camp" scenario and killed him off and injured his cameraman. Showed the supposed footage at the end. Seriously??? My dh is a cameraman and believe me, if something exciting was happening, a real cameraman would get more than a few grunts and growls off camera, a shaky cam camera drop, and a vague shadow. The cameramen I know have risked armed, escaped gunmen and falling out of helicopters to get the shot. So the guy miraculously finds his way back to the cabins with a severe head wound, and yet can't seem to speak intelligible English to say what happened. No close up on the wound, only a red hand that looked suspiciously unblood-like. No close up on the dead body either, so no verification that it truly was the good guy character.

Although the show might prove to be some mindless entertainment, I don't think it is anything that most here would get excited about.

i have 2 ideas on this show...

1st its a mind twist show for you and contestants.but i think part of contestants are real folks others are plants to mess with them and cause drama and se if they jack their brains sideways.

2nd is is just all bs and it sorta like that blair witch project only in a series....

when it started i thought this could be interesting and might see a few skills.....but then that was replaced with...oh no...this is crap.....

so its back to history channel and youtube mostly for me.

I read a review somewhere, and since more do get killed, etc - they say of course that is not happening, so it sound like a general idea, and the people are basically real, but I would guess when "killed" they just are tagged out of the show.

If you google it more online, you'll see where it's suppose to get more outlandish as it goes.

And as I said, I was flipping channels when I found it, but I probably will attempt to remember to check out the next show, just to see where it goes. (and I like their cabins and setting).

Gotta be better than Naked and Afraid - what a stupid show, as are most "reality" shows.

We have them not because they're so good, or what people want to watch - but because they're cheap to make.

Sounds like a show to watch and make fun of to me! Those are the best!

I actually enjoyed episode 2 of the Naked and Afraid show. I can forget they're naked altogether.

It isn't a 'real' reality show. From what I gathered,it shows that you can't tell the difference between scripted and reality.I believe the 'contestants'' are actors.I'm watching it now.

Thanks for the reviews, I can surely tell it's one I'll never watch even a minute of.
