Under the Dome

Watched it last night. The thing that I thought interesting was when the grocery/produce truck crashed & couldn't bring in food. I sat there wondering what people would do if this really happened. Not a dome, but for whatever reason trucks not getting their deliveries in. Makes me want to plant more in the garden!

I watched it last night. I didn't even know it was a book first. (I don't read Steven King). Now knowing that Steven King is causing it, it does make the scarey stalking Angie boy reason for being in the story more evident. I think that didn't do a thing for the Dome part of the story.

Good graphics on the cow split after the dome came down.
And I don't know yet whether it's a breathable dome so atmosphere can be exchanged, or whether the trees to persons ratio is key on them staying alive.

Sorta strange.

The cow split grossed me out. Good effect though.
I dont think the crazy boy helped either.

Im wondering if they are cut off of oxygen too & its just a matter of time till it runs out.

If I remember correctly from the book they do run into air quality issues. Seems like maybe the Dome is semi breathable? I can't remember.

I am DVRing it but have not watched last nights episode yet.

SPOILER ALERT:

This is if it follows the book. But in the book, Dale didn't witness a cow being cut in half -- it was a woodchuck; so who knows!

The story is really about how people react (good, bad and fight for control) in an emergency situation where your cut off from the rest of the world with limited resources and a greedy guy who was out to make his fortune running a major meth lab.

People also begin to have visions when they touch the barrier and realize what it is, where it came from, and why it's there. A clue: It has to do with "Leatherheads".

About the stalker guy, hang in there. If it follows the book it will make sense in a little while.

About the air. It would have been okay, but soon there will only be a handful alive. Over 1,000 people will die simultaneously - live on national tv; due to a man-made event stemming from the before-the-dome drug greed. Even those still alive will begin to be asphyxiated. 26 will make it, ultimately due to compassion.

Read the book...thought the first show was good and sticking to the book as well as any TV show ever does. The scenario of being cut off from help could easily be any community in a SHTF event.
