hello all a fast update

Hello to all my cyber family. Miss talking to all of you. I have been very busy. Hubby is still outta work and it seems like all I have done is fill out papers for one sort of assistance or another and be shuffled around like cattle from one agency to another. Thank God for my supplies or me and my family would have starved to death waiting for food. I am a month in and still waiting for food stamps.I was supposed to eat at my BF house for Thanksgiving but would you beleive her husband beat her and she had to leave for safety reasons and landed with my family. God is sooo good as she had nothing but her cliothes and kids and I with my hubby outta work was able to house and feed them, A miracle that we could see blessings in such tragedy. Oh she did tote the turkey out with her while leaving why I fo not know but I did not have a bird to cook but between her grabbing that and my stockpile we pulled gobble gobble day off for both our families. It is funny how things always come together somehow. I have been helping my hubby fill out app;ications online and printing and faxing inbetween decorating the tree and trying to create a warm Christmas home filled with Jolly. I am just so thankful for what we do have. I really am longing to sell our home and get a double wide and be less in debt ot out of it completely.the loss of DH being without work is making me really wanna push him to make the jump to no or low mortgage. I know God will take care of us though no matter what. I thnk all who are praying for us. I had tried to post befor but it would not post for some rreason. I thank all of you that wanted to gather woodstove parts for us, I am so greatful for all of your kindness. I know it will happen that we get it in but for now the propane has he;ped and thank God it has been an overall mild winter her so far. I will keep all posted as much as I can. Please have Merry and BLESSED Christmas. May God keep all of us in his loving arms. I will talk to alll of you again soon. God Bless, Justincase

Merry Christmas to you, as you sound that it will be good as long as you are all together.

May your DH find a decent job, or make one soon.

Good to hear from you.

Thanks for the update, and for sharing your blessings in this hard time. Many times, I think we will find that our forward thinking will be used as a blessing to those who are more unfortunate than us, and in doing so, we are doubly blessed in return.

Merry Christmas to you and your family, and your friend and her family! I'll keep you all in my prayers!

Your prepping has been a blessing to two families! Is she still with you? Much as I hate to see more people on assistance, your friend may be eligible for some assistance too. I don't know what the situation is with her abusive hubby, but he should be contributing toward his familie's upkeep, so she needs to look into making that happen. Perhaps there is a counselor at a womens shelter that advise her on her rights and how to go about obtaining either public assistance and food stamps, and get the ball rolling on getting child support. She did the right thing by leaving a man that beats her.

And, of course, I'll be praying for a good job for your hubby. Sounds like your family is long overdue for blessings!

Going through times like these will really change your way of thinking and how you do things in the future. I hope that you will be able to end up in situation where you don't have a mortgage.

I had a traditional mortgage very young in life...seems like I was 20. I got the first statement from the mortgage company where it shows how much of your payments went towards principal and how much towards interest and nearly fainted! Sold that house quickly and bought a very very modest little place with the equity I had in the house I sold and haven't had a mortgage since then!

I fed my family and quite a few extra people out of my stored foods for 6 months when (ex)hubby had to have hip replacement surgery. Since that experience and knowing just how valuable having a well stocked pantry can be, I keep everything well stocked. You just never know when you may need to fall back on your stores. Bless you and I hope you keep the wonderful positive attitude!

So glad to hear from you and hear that you are keeping your spirits high through tough times. Here's hoping your hubs finds work soon and in a better situation than the one he had before.
