WOW!My vote was stolen

I went to vote today, the first time ever in my life. I went with pneumonia and a sick three year old. I was determined to vote no matter what! I registered last week. I went in and the lady told me I already voted. I assured her I NEVER voted. It brought to mind several years ago my lil one was on medicaid and the lady said I was registered to vote. I did not pay any mind to it. Now I realize somebody took my vote toady and maybe from years ago. I never been into politics but man did I feel violated. I was able to submit a paper ballot and I have to call in 10 days to make sure MY vote counted. Kinda funny the first time I vote and this is what happens. Just beware to everyone it really does happen. Their are theives everywhere wether it is goods like a stereo or a car your identity and your vote!!!!

you better check things like credit scores and such, also.

Maybe you're one of those mysterious voters (or an illegal registered as you).
I hope it gets straightened out.

And thank you for going to that much effort to make sure your vote is YOURS, and that it's counted.

They don't ask for ID at our polls, so anyone could walk in and give my name. Can you complain and have the prior vote canceled? I don't know what the process is if someone steals your vote, but that's awful!

Yep, I'd be a lot more worried that more than your vote was stolen... When was the last time you got a credit report?

I'd check with the Social Security office too and make sure your number is only being used at your place of employment and nowhere else.

Man... I'm so embarassed that my whole state seems to be a big ole cesspool of voter junkness. I can't believe how many issues like this I have heard.

I tried to force them to take my info from my valid i.d., but they insisted I verbally state it and had no interest in matching it with any i.d. I almost started sign language and pretended to be mute. What would they do then?

I hope you can check on all your identity stuff and get it worked out. Too bad you will NEVER get your vote back.

That's why they NEED to see picture ID's

Hopefully this will be a case of mistaken identity, possibly someone with a similar name

We had to show photo ID in our podunk town. Even though the poll workers are people we know all showed proper ID. Questioned me as my voter registration is different than my drivers license d/t I normally use maiden name initial as middle name and they didn't match. But my ugly pic showed I was who I am! Hehe

They are asking us to show ID this year but we don't have to, ID laws passed but it is being fought in the surpreme court. I believe they ruled we will have to start showing ID after this election

I have no problem with showing an ID at all! When my mom's driver's license expires we will apply for a picture ID to take it's place. It's really not that hard to have an ID.

That just sucks that your vote was stolen!

NC was a swing state. I suspect a lot of that is going on. This election won't be over for months. I hear there are Thousand's of lawyers waiting for the end of elections tonight

I heard one of the coastal ( I think) counties had printer problems in three precincts that caused it to seem some had already voted.

You may want to catch the news to find out if it was your county

You mean you DON'T have to show ID? What's to stop someone from saying they're anyone if they don't have to show ID??

We early voted and definitely had to show our photo id. I was very glad when they asked.

Exactly! I think it's a travesty that they don't ask for photo ID when it's something as important as an election.

Travesty is an understatement. If it wasn't such a sad situation I'd be falling off my chair right now from laughing at the sheer incompetence and stupidity. Never have I heard of voters not being required to show valid ID for any election and I always just assumed that Americans had to show ID like anywhere else. I'm absolutely stunned and shaking my head at the revelation of this.

WE had to show ID here as well. I think and agree with that. Most here where waiting in line to do Paper Ballots as all were having issues with the machine having difficulties taking their actual vote.

Some states have been trying to make it so, and been accused of being racist. In AL I have had to show my photo ID to vote for years.
there are other acceptable id's but I just use my driver's license.
