thread in cattle forum

I just wanted to refer people to the thread in the cattle forum about the cattle and the fires. i am not sure how this will effect people, but it is good information to know.
4000+ head of cattle need help

that's rough, sounds like a really good reason to can some meat, or buy some from where ever - or make plans.

That story is both sad and dreadful. Going through miles and miles of scorched land to find burned animals sounds like pure hell.

I've never seen it this hot or this dry this early. I normally have an excess of hay, and I'm afraid if I don't sell some stock I'll be buying very expensive hay.
It's one thing when it's just your region, I know bad weather hits everyone now and then, but the huge scope and severity of this really kind of spooks me.

Well be slaughtering and canning our two steers this October. Get a new baby when the goat freshens. Then Molly should have a new calf on. So we should be good.
