frost seeding ?

Anyone familiar w/frost-seeding ? I want to introduce some clover (probably ?) into a field of natural grass that hasn't been plowed or anything added to it for 75 years, just been mowed ?
At present I'm not set up to till, although I have 2 big plows & a nifty little homesteader-level one that you pull behind a 'garden tractor' ?
Also in a set w/that I got a disk harrow & a spade bit plow, just don't think I have anything powerfull enough to use these things yet - my Gravely walk-behind is set up to push, not pull (& needs ag tires).
If I got some seed, we still have full snow cover of fields (well, my field) - deer are feeding on all the snow-free fields.

You can make your own seed blends a LOT cheaper than buying the premixed

I've done it a few times. The first two times I didn't notice a difference in the stand of grass. The third time I poured it on thick and heavy and it turned out great. I was going to do it again this year in a different spot but winter didn't really cooperate, I might be to late now.

From my experience, pour it on thick.

<!-- / message -->

It generally takes at least 50% more to overseed vs tilling and planting

We were planning on frost seeding this year, but then the frost gave out a whole lot sooner than normal; before our mill got their seed in.

Walter Jeffries, I don't remember his user name here but you can probably find him in the pig forum, should be able to give you a lot of info on it. Here's a link to an entry on his blog about it:
