Anyone see Apocolypse 2012?

Just finished watching it, man there are some folks out there that are spending millions on underground bunkers (one in Kansas) to survive what they believe will be the end of the world as we know it on 12/21/2012.

Also a prepper supply place owned by a fella named McClung - I think it is called 2012 Supplies. He was featured on the show.

The most striking aspect was the man from the Netherlands (I didn't catch whether it was Denmark or Sweden) whose last name is Jeryl who is getting people to invest in a survival camp located somewhere in Spain.

It was an interesting take on the end of the world and why people think certain things will happen. The most striking thing was the bunker owner in Kansas saying that they had placed a couple of food orders and was told the US Government had placed orders that were so large that it knocked his orders back. He said that the supply house he orders from called and told him on two separate occasions that his order would be delayed because the US Gov. had placed an order so large as to deplete the supply house of goods to sell.

makes one curious as to why the government is ordering MREs and other consummables in such quantities when they should have their own suppliers that can fill these types of orders without going to the RETAIL market.

All in all it was quite good at explaining the different points of view as to what is supposed to happen (solar flares, asteroids, Mayan calendar, nuclear fallout, etc.).

Government buys stuff like that all the time. Government doesn't really make anything, it contract's it out. Then that gets subcontracted out.

I've heard of the MRE's being in short supply before, on this forum, via someone that had ordered somewhere and was told the government was buying them up like crazy.

I think I may have seen that show, cause the "community in Spain" rings a bell. Also, some silo that's apartments with all the banks, drs, hospital, etc, and about $50,000 or more to get in.

Strange - but I've heard of this stuff.

I thought the money aspect of all the people involved was particularly interesting.

The guy in Europe won't disclose the location of the "bunker" they have bought other than it is in Spain, but he is taking in thousands of dollars and will not disclose said location until just a few days before 12/21/2012.

One guy admitted that he had written 3 books and made a lot of sales, but really didn't believe that anything was going to happen on 12/21. He was, apparently, all too willing to cash in on other people's beliefs. lol..

All the folks interviewed were making big bucks on other people's fears..just seemed that they were very upfront about the money aspect. When the food supplier was asked what he was going to do if nothing happened, his reply was call his store maybe "2012 reasons to survive" or something like that.

Just curious if anyone else had seen it - I had no idea people were spending that kind of money to prepare for a Mayan end of calendar date.
