Looking for a emergency deep well pump??

I am selling one of my extra vehicles and will have some money to put into prepping. Plan on putting together a 6mon supply of food from the local LDS cannery. Then I would like to purchase and install an emergency hand pump for my deep well---current sub pump down about 60'. Thought I saw a website that had hand pumps with proper pipe here on the forum. I would like to spend less than $1000 for all parts, including rod. Would like to have the handle removable againsit vandalism--my well head is 8' from the road behind a small decorative fence. Any ideas----thanks!!

You should be able to put a Simple Pump in for under budget at that depth. If you have any questions about my setup let me know.

Please explain. The cheapest pump setup I can find is almost $1,000. Is there a better/cheaper way to do it?

I found a Stalwart pump...made mostly of PVC and red brass for $649 and then extra for drop piping per 5 ft. I calculated around $1100 with 60ft of pipe. Simple pumps at Bison pumps would be over $1500, what gives?

I thought you said your well was a DEEP well at 60 ft. My well is a deep well - 660 ft deep. Puts out 125 gallons per minuted though.

Find a local windmill well man and see if he has an old hand pump laying around to start. A lot of people around here are using 2" PVC pipe and no cylinder just using leathers that fit inside the PVC pipe.

Yucca from what I understand everything more than 25' is considered deep well by definition. Yes your well is very deep, but an impressive output. I would guess my would a 10th of the production. What size is your casing? Mine is only a 4" casing with submersible pump.

if you can get it to fit in your casing. Here is a deep pump I designed with local pvc pipe and fittings.

One of the last preps finally complete!

It's a 10 inch cased well. It has a 3 HP, 3 phase pump in it. It was originally used by a neighbor (since moved) who had an artificial stream in his yard, up on top of the 2nd highest hill in the neighborhood. He would pump water to the top let it flow in his stream bed, and then down a waterfall and into a pond. He only ran it when having a big BBQ. Talk about having more money than brains.
