Looking into wireless security cams...could use your help...

I am currently loooking at the lorex live sd7. My question is this, does it monitor in real time or is it motion activated. What I want is something on 24/7 but has recording capabilities when I absent. Two cams is all I need and could do with one. I have to have a separate monitor and I could get by on one cam. I need something in the 300 range....thanks
