Basic Homesteading How To

An excellent reference how to book for beginning to experienced homesteader is "Build It Better Yourself" from Rodale Press (Organic Gardening and Farming) published in 1977. Hardback 941 pages and about $5 from Amazon.

Info on Planting Flats, Plant Stands, Planting Tubs, Houseplant Cases, Growlights, Houseplant Worktables, Mushroom Shelves, Window Box, Window Greenhouses, Gardening Tools, Compost Bins, Cold Frames, Planting Beds, Plant Protectors, Arbors, Trellises, Orchard and Woodlot Aids, Irrigation, Birdhouses, Food Processing, Food Dryers, Smokehouse, Concrete, Walks and Patios, Walls, Fences, Gates, Bridges, Outdoor Furniture, Garden Ponds, Outbuildings, Livestock Housing, Crop Storage, Greenhouses, Homestead Accessories, and a Build-It-Yourselfer's Encyclopedia of Terms, Tools, and Techniques. A lot of information in the book!

This book is from the days of the original alternate lifestyle movement.
