I bought wicks and burners long time back and I think Kmart. Lehmens a better bet probably. Burners can be cleaned. Those that screw in to the lamp those are oldie lamps. Or at least use to be. Brass fittings. But same burner or was. Band on mine comes 0ff so fits either type.. I do have one lamp that the burner screws on backwards that came from Mexico. Will not be able to replace that burner. Farm stores maybe a good place to look.

I've been collecting lamps from Goodwill, and other thrift stores. Even if I HATE the look of the lamp, if it has a wide wick, it usually goes home with me. I take the burners and wicks out of the icky looking lamps, and store them for my good lamps.

They're between $2 and $4, generally.

I've had good luck with ebay on the things I need for replacement parts, JuliaAnn..you might try there, although I see there are some replacements available new at http://www.antiquelampsupply.com/product/2209

Really hard to find the aladdin type or spreader type lamps at Goodwill, I must say. Found one once..I grabbed it quickly at $5.00.

I bought a bunch of replacement parts at Kmart years ago. I also bought bottles of oil cheap there. One thing about the oil, it comes in plastic bottles, don't leave in the plastic it will degrade over time and you'll lose your oil, ask me how I know this.

If you know any locals with gas wells on their places, drip gas can be found, and through my experimenting, it works great in kerosene lamps. Up until last month, I "HAD" to remove a gallon every other day from my drip tank on my gas line. Over at the well itself, they have a 500 barrel tank, full most of the time.

Nope, still no correct flame spreader. Sigh.

I wonder how hard it would be to fabricate one?

Lehman's sells some wicks by the foot. They probably have the cut wicks you need for your lamps.

Have you tried an Ace hardware store?
I've seen lots of replacement parts there...they have a large catalog that most places will special order a part for you if they don't normally carry it.

I see this part when I google...

http://www.bplampsupply.com/product/2209

No idea what exactly you're searching for.
