new neighbors and being prepared

We have new neighbors and they are good friends also. We were so excited about them moving next door. Last Friday the wife called me and asked if we had a wine bottle opener, I said sure come get it. Today her husband called and said he was trying to light his grill and had NO MATCHES or lighters in the house, wanting to know if I did and could he borrow some. I say sure come on over. His comment after thanking me was "WOW, you always seem to have everything" guess I will be teaching them a few things, his wife has already asked me to help her learn to garden and put up food next summer. It never ceases to amaze me how little some people are prepared for.

That may be a teaching yourself while you teach them. As you show them, the holes in your preps should show up.

I'm glad you can be there for them, and make someone helpful to have around.
