No, you don't sound stupid. No one learns anything without asking questions (if they do it costs them time, money and many mistakes).
Really, the odds of being able to store up enough meds to last the rest of a person’s lifetime are not conceivable. The amount would be staggering, and some meds have short shelf lives. Some even become hazardous when they go past their shelf life. Depending on what the health issue is, one might look to see if there is a nature source for treating it (such as herbs, minerals, etc).
