Do you all wish me to continue to post doom news?

Do you all like my doom news or Do you wish me to not post doom news?

It seems I get flak from various folks if I post news stories... Some see it as over the top doomer porn. I figure it's good for this forum in that it keeps us motivated to prep. It gets us to discuss the possible scenario's and how to prep for them. That we wouldn't have on the radar otherwise....

Believe me I get a literal ton of stories that are doom related and keep up with it on a bunch of other sites. So if you all would like me to stick to S&EP how to type posts I will. I enjoy that aspect of this forum as well.

Anyway what do you all think?

Now far be it for me to give the appearance that I don't think anyone should post 'doom news' in a forum that is naturally attractive to doomers. Post away!

But I just wouldn't be me if I didn't once in a while twit you about it.

.....Alan.

Frankly speaking, Stan, 99.99999999% of the time I SOB your posts because of their content.

I am answering this one because the quesion was plain in the thread heading.
I come here to read of people's preps and helpful ideas. Just my point of view, but I think GC and the political forum have lots of links to news stories.

This is not a personal attack on you, Stan, just a direct answer to your question.

As long as you have reasonable documentation about from what source you got your info, post away! Even if a probem does not directly affect me now does not mean it won't be at my doorstep later. I would rather be made aware, have time to ponder and prep, and then be ready to deal with it if it shows its ugly face at my house.

The posts that bother me (not saying you are responsible for any of them) are those that are inflammatory and have no documentation. "The Canadians are about to close the border and are currently massing troops at all major border crossings. All Americans visiting Canada are doomed. Grab your guns and be ready to repel everyone who says 'ey after each sentence..." How do I know this? Well, my Preacher's cousin's mother-in-law overheard it at the beauty salon. But you better go sell off all your possessions and buy ammo because those plaid coaters are coming!!!

Keep posting away , because you may find some scenario that I had not thought of myself!!!!

A source or two would be nice for references, and other insights..

Post away! As for folks not liking your doom posts, nobody is forcing them to open the thread and read.

Feel free to post - I read some threads on here and pass over others that don't interest me. But the overall "family" of support and information wouldn't be the same without you!

well now I know I can say "doom porn" here and not get slapped

I vote for keep posting here too. It's fun either speculating(what would I do), or commiserating, or pshawing, but discussion's fun.

can I say doom porn is titillating?

Thanks, ALL

I will try never to post articles from the wild west of web news...
Like Alex Jones On the far right or Kunstler on the far left...

I will keep things non political, I wish you all to do the same. There is a forum for that stuff. I will post stories from the most reputable sources I can... But I reserve the right to disagree with the opinion in the noted article and insert my own thoughts. Otherwise you could just go to the MSM.

This is where I go for "real" news. I love hearing everyone's input on it as well. I'm still a bit of a follower and have ALOT to learn...so post away. People don't have to click to open. Besides, I never go to GC, so I would miss it.

I'm a doomer porn junkie, personally, and wouldn't come here if I couldn't get it here, lol. It keeps me on my toes and thinking, and I am less likely to let my guard down with these sorts of posts cropping up.

I wouldn't bother with preps if I weren't to some degree scared of all the what-ifs. They serve their purpose.

I'm re-reading A Gift Upon The Shore in part because the flu news has died down and I NEED MY FIX.

Keep posting. I have usually read what you post before you post it...but that's okay. Sometimes I like to read everyone else's reactions.

I usually enjoy most of the articles you post. And I agree with CalliesLamb, I also like to see what everyone's opinion on things.
