Food shortages article in Wall St. Journal

Interesting article today in teh Wall Street Journal about the troubling conditions in the world today:

Also If anyone listens to NPR they are doing a week long look at the shortage. What I heard thismorning sounded very interesting.

I bet you could also find it online at the npr web site.

I just found another article that puts the spotlight on the problem also. There was one statement in there that shocked me:

"The global supply of wheat is lower than it's been in about 50 years — just five weeks' worth of world consumption is on hand, according to the U.N. Food and Agricultural Organization."

What happens in 5 weeks when all the stored wheat in the world runs out? What do the starving masses of the world do then?
