Grist mill

Found a grist mill at the fleamarket today for $75 . It was old and rusty and still turned. But how can I tell if it is still usable or just a decoration? This is my first post and yes i have started prepping . BTW is a DH????
Thanks,

DH = "dear husband" or "dang husband" depending on context.

So far as the mill is concerned there's no way to know but to try it. Disassemble it, clean what needs it, lube it where it's needed (but not where it can get into the flour), put it back together then try running some rice or something through it. You'll know pretty quick.

.....Alan.
