Ouch. That hurt little. Still does.
Yesterday I was welding on my blade mounts for my tractor so I could clear some snow. I went to put the bolts back in, but the holes were not quite lining up, so I pushed on the blade with my feet like I have a million times. Behind me was an old fridge I want to use for vet supplies, eggs, or whatever. SO I leaned up against it to get more ooooompppphhhhh!
Never thought about the gol darn microwave oven that I have sitting on top of the fridge though. Fridge shifted, microwave landed on my head, twisting my neck a fair bit. I am ok, but it is the stupidest accident I have had, and one that could have surely been worse. I have a nasty headache, and trouble getting comfortable in bed to sleep. It will pass, I am sure.
I would say be careful with those pesky microwaves, but this is just one of those things that is hard to warn about. It is not like saying don't slip on the ice, or watch out for the ram, or be careful when backing up in a yard with kids.
How do you tell people to watch out for falling microwaves?
Glad it wasn't worse. The position I was in, was not a good one, and it sure could have been nasty.
So, uh, hmmm, watch out for those falling microwaves, you hear?

You sure got lucky.. glad you're OK..
I got nailed the other day by something heavy falling... I kind of knew it was there, but didn't give it a thought... It came down on me, and I got lucky and it was more glancing... but that feeling of WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS THAT, .. the surrealism... that's the part that gets me the worst when you do something like that.. Pain fades, but it's the strange feeling of not knowing that always sticks with me..

Ouch! I am imagining you were not standing up when this happened, so the microwave fell some distance before it hit you? Probably lucky it didn't knock you out!
Hey, you already had the welder out, tack weld that microwave to the top of the frig. That'll teach it!

Yeah I was sitting with my back against the fridge, using it as a push pad for my back. Microwave could have at least chirped or growled, or squeaked to warn me, but no, slid off without a sound.
I kind of threw the microwave after it struck out at me. The door had popped open, and so when I threw it to teach it a lesson, thee door kinda isn't well attached anymore.
I think it learned it's lesson.

Maybe that knocked some sense into you. Come to think of it, stuff like that never helped me much. Glad you are OK.

Na, they will make a new law and then put stickers all over the refrigerators and microwave about the dangers of microwaves on top of refrigerators. Plus they will need to make a new ABC gov division to regulate all of this. So, they will have to add an extra safety tax to both appliances to pay for said division.
Glad you ok.

FarmerDale, you might want to visit a chiropractor for that neck. There is a tiny bone sitting right next to the skull called an atlas bone; and all nerves run thru it. (I knocked mine out of place when I was 6 yrs old by standing on my head; and it stayed out of place until I was in my 30's because I did not know it was out of place. It caused many terrible headaches because the natural place for that bone to sit all those years was on my nerves. Thus, a word of caution: You might be wise to have that bone checked out.)

Thankfully, no. It would have probably made them chuckle, or maybe they could have warned me in time? I am glad that the deer antlers and skull that historically were on top of the microwave, had been safely nailed to the wall...
I would hate to have had to throw them and break them. They are a nice set.

Yes indeed, I have a fair amount of carp that is supposed to have good uses.... Someday.
I am glad to be able to spend more time here too! Winter evenings are very long, so what else is there but HT?

That's scary. Do you still have a headache? Head/brain injuries are nothing to mess with so at the risk of sounding like a worrywart, please get it checked out if you're still having symptoms.

Oh,now that sounds just like my Dh. Worse than that, I'm the one that has it all memorized where it IS in the pole barn. I threw out a stool he rigged up with a special tool caddy arround the bottom, he had 2. I must have skinned my shins on that thing a hundred times. I don't think he's ever been mad at me for so long after I told him I tossed it. Sheeze, he's never used the thing and still has one left. Men and their Junk. OK ,there, I said it, JUNK.

Headache has eased, neck slowly feeling better.
Reminds me of that song, "there's a hole in the bottom of the sea"
There's a fridge in the shed on Dale's farm, Repeat twice. There's a Fridge, there's a fridge, there's a fridge in the shed on Dale's farm!
There's a microwave on the fridge in the shed, on Dale's farm.
And so on. Thankfully not much "fits" on top of deer antlers.
Sounds like some of us would have a pretty long song!
There, I hijacked my own thread.

Ya, I bet it hurt. Reminds me of the time my wife hit me in the face with a cat. His name was Raptor. He learned how to open doors. He tried to sneak into the house when we were about to go away. So my wife picked him up and tossed him out the door just as I came around the corner. He hurt. I felt sorry for him too. Like you, how do you warn people to beware of flying cats.

They will make you pose for a warning sticker now. Instead of a barred circle over a baby dangling head first in a bucket, the circle will be over a picture of you passed out against a fridge with X eyes peeping out of a microwave.
