What did you do today?

I took DGS who is 2, to a Native American festival. It is the first one he has gone too. He loved it so much he asked to stay. His mom and dad were busy today, so they asked that he go home early for his nap. Well, he didn't get his nap on time. I didn't want to leave either. It was a wonderful day!

We went to the "Chowdah Cookoff" in Bethel ME. Wonderful, and even tho it was 27 degrees Friday am, it was sunny & near 60 yesterday afternoon. For $10 you got TEN small cups of 10 different "chowdahs", yum!

we went to the work share farm- dug taters and leeks and picked apples-

then I went to the Amish store to get spices and went to the orchard to get more apples-

then a friends house and got a huge bag of clothes she didn't want- I pretty much got a new wardrobe

then got rid of as much clothing as I brought in-

then sat on the couch and drank a bottle of wine

It is very interesting to see what everyone is doing. I snatched DGS again today to go back to the Native American festival. He was so excited. I talked with a few Native Americans to try to get some information on my genealogy. I am struggling to find a Native American relative.

DH and our two DS worked on the pole barn. They are getting there. Hopefully it will be done before winter, we hope. One day at a time. It is hard when they only get together to work on it about once a month, but DH works on it alone as much as he can.

Helped DH in the barn. He built a storage loft in part of it so now everything is getting sorted and organized.

Manged to get a skunk out of my live trap w/out getting spray. Where I had it set, it was next to impossible to cover it w/something and move it, but since it was next to my greenhouse, I was able to hide behind that to a point and get the door opened enough for it to get out.

put a turkey in the oven-
started stock with the giblets-
went to church
went back to the workshare Farm-picked half a bushel Jalapenos- one bushel of Green and Yellow Peppers- a bushel of paste tomatoes- and half a bushel of poblanos- and 5 huge bunches of celery-
got one roaster filled with spaghetti sauce- made 1shotwade's monster mash almost 7 pints-
got the celery trimmed- in the fridge- separated the large leaves off to dry and use in soup-
got a whole gallon jar of strong stock! I will use it to add to stock I need to can..

I am whooped- and still need to shower and get the little one ready for school tomorrow- I am so tempted to call in sick- the work share has at least 10 pints of blackberries/raspberries and golden raspberries that need picked...**sigh***
but I still need to do another roaster full of tomato sauce with the other half a bushel left-

oh that sucks- I understand that frustration-
I am grateful I still have my mommy at my age- who is willing to come to my house when I have one and do reflexology on my feet and hands- to relieve it... You should google the pressure points- I end up rubbing my own feet and hands when I have one until she can get to my house...it really does help

Yesterday: broke a turnbuckle on my 15' mower.
Today: installed a 50-amp circuit breaker, went to the university of YouTube, and taught myself to weld. The mower is all better now!
