Will you watch Noah?

The new movie "Noah" which is due to be released at the end of this month has some creative license and alternative twists to it. It is already being rejected and been refused a license to screen by censors in several Middle Eastern countries because of Noah being depicted as a drinker at one point. To Muslims Noah is considered a messenger of Allah so that means no drinking allowed to Noah. http://www.cbc.ca/news/arts/noah-fil...east-1.2564189

Starring Russell Crowe, Anthony Hopkins, Emma Watson, Jennifer Connelly, Douglas Booth, Logan Lerman, and Ray Winstone, the film is based on the story of Noah's Ark and is set to be released in theaters on March 28, 2014.

I'd be looking forward to watching it no matter the subject matter just because I like anything with Russell Crowe and Anthony Hopkins in it, but I will also be looking forward to it because of the subject matter. I've always thought the story of Noah and the Ark and the Great Flood is one of the most fascinating bits of history out of the bible because the story of the flood coincides so much with the Great Flood stories from other continents and cultures.

So will you be wanting to see this movie too?

I just read a story on that and it said the Muslims objected simply because of the pictorial depiction of Noah, considered a prophet. They go all to pieces if you draw a picture of any prophet, some kind of sacrilegious blasphemy to them.
The fact is he did get drunk when it was all over with, at least once. I can't say i'd blame him, lol.

Noah DID plant the first vineyard AFTER the flood. He DID over drink himself into a unintended drunk.

Lot, however got toasted drunk by his daughters after S & G. In my own experience with being a wino, I don't see how Lot could do anything after tying one on.
Yes, Im going to see it Wed.

As a Christian, I wasn't going to watch it at first.

Until I realized the kind of books I read. I read *ALL* manner of books - I'm talking all sorts of books that range from slightly to ridiculously out of line with Christianity. (No, we're not talking the Satanic Verses here - just stuff that makes you think, such as "Towing Jehovah", a book about God being found dead in the ocean, and the owner of a Merchant Marines boat being tasked with towing his body to the arctic to preserve it. I read it just to see what it was about.)

Lots of people get all uptight about movies being not 100% accurate...and then tolerate books, TV shows, DVDs and the like that do exactly that. So yes, I'll probably go see it, while realizing it's not meant to be a 100% truthful depiction of the Bible.

Yes. I am. As far as I'm concerned any movie, series or book that may make people interested in learning more about the Bible is a good thing. I hope this movie encourages thousands to do just that.

I don't go to the movies. I'm super sensitive to noise, and movie theaters are just too loud for me.

I will see it. My experience has always been to get aggravated at what I feel are inaccuracies in a movie then run to re read the book. That generally leads to a conversation with others. To me, that clarifies things.

I fell in love with The Illiad and could not wait for the movie Troy. I could barely sit still poking my family and saying "that is not what happened", etc. Maybe I have a strange sense of entertainment.

I doubt it, I don't care for Russell Crowe at all and avoid his movies.

Both Christians and Muslims, are already worried, the story is not being told, the way they want it to be told.

Loading a movie up with stars, special effects and then marketing it with controversy, is a sure sign, it is stinko. Besides, everyone already knows the ending.

Pass.

No. I just saw a commercial for it. It says it's "inspired" by Noah. I'm not going to see Son of God either. The things I've heard about it make me uncomfortable. According to what I've heard the movie seems to stress Christ's love without stressing why we need that very love and that His sacrifice is the only way.

If you're interested in Son of God you could watch The Bible miniseries. The movie basically condenses the six or eight hours of the TV miniseries into two hours on the big screen.

I'm not comfortable about a movie when Rick Warren says something is so good that he'd rather you watch the movie than go to church. I'm even less comfortable when a movie is promoted by Joel Osteen. Those are some scary men.

So, yes, I am saying I won't see either movie even though I've not seen them. I've heard from godly people who have watched these things and I'm going to trust their opinion. I'm not keen on supporting the movie makers and I don't have the money to spend.

Noah did drink. Plainly stated. I've heard that the movie strays too far from the truth, so I don't intend to bother to watch it.

I'm not into it for the truth or authenticity of it because nobody really knows for sure exactly what happened anyway. I'm into it strictly for the entertainment value and special effects (and Crowe and Hopkins) and a newer version of an old story.

I look at it like this, if i can watch Sylvester Stallone in Rocky15, and all the other stuff I've seen , i certainly want to see snakes, fire, and a huge tidal wave and flood and watch Noah ride the wave and surf some hang time. So yes i will see it when it comes out on reg. TV
