Fake sign language interpreter
A man who apparently doesn't know sign language was the interpreter for a number of speakers at the Mandela events. Evidently he was acting in an official capacity, but nobody knows much about him. Deaf people in the audience say that the signs he was making don't mean anything at all. Here's the story.

As much as I would like to crack wise and say that maybe Obama got the big appluse he got was because this interpreter told the crowd they could keep their Dr. if they were happy I won't .
Its pretty scary that some random dude that no one seems to know anything about can get that close to the POTUS .

Someone must have known him. The government has confirmed that he was hired to do the translations. Hopefully he was vetted for security. Buy you gotta wonder why he wasn't tested on sign language.

Well he defo is not using asl, PSE, or american sign Lang, so perhaps he was using sign from Mandellas culture? Sign varrys by country just as much if not more than spoken Lang. Hell, I have been a fluent signer for nearly 20 years, worked at the Idaho school for the deaf, and can barely communicate with deaf people from California.

So apparently, this morning, he is claiming he suffers from Schizophrenia, and was hallucinating at the time he was up there.

As I always say... The president and other world leaders are nothing more than a person like me and you.. no different than you and me..
We replace our president every 4 years... or at least put the offer out there to replace them..
What makes them so special that they have to be protected at all costs, including collateral damage of innocent bystanders?
If you watch a motorcade here in DC when they are moving the king, they have guys with machine guns hanging out of the windows of the SUV's watching everyone. They also have a SUV that has a mini gun in it, capable of firing 6000 rounds per minute..
Now I ask.... how is unleashing that in a crowded city justifiable to protect a man that's going to be replaced in a couple years anyway?

From a security angle it would be very sloppy background checking. Someone that could have close access to the president is generally checked very thoroughly, they don't generally take foreign governments clearances at face value.

Obama walks into food places here in DC and the area and shakes hands and talks to people not vetted at all. He does the same when vacationing in his "home" state getting ice cream for his kids... what's the big deal of this, other than the guy pulled the wool over everyone's eyes... well, except for the deaf people..
My brother was at the golfcourse at Andrews with his son at the driving range.. Here comes Obama, and they all keep on driving along with him... no one vetted..

Nothing the pres does is not scripted, this Perez has had the most death threats I can remember. You can bet those places were locked down and the customers checked, a controlled environment so to speak.

Wasn't what my brother said.. Said they had no idea he would be there, and he just showed up with all his people. No one was told to leave.. they all just carried on..
Around here you see on the local news when he visits some place to get a burger.. all the people working there, or the customers they interview always say they were surprised to see him.. (and lie about how great it was to meet him) .

If so that would be a very poor security situation, maybe there is some negligence and it could be intentional.
I have done a large number of PSD' s for high profile individuals including gov. We have some very detailed instructions as to the level of protection, situation and individual control is foremost in all of them.
