Boys, women...

okay, after grade school I went to a school for girls. Can't even visualize having boys there. Would boys be better off in all male schools?

Can't disagree with a single point.

Separate them at birth and let them out of grad school

to discover the horrors of the opposite sex!

It's a brave new world . . .

The article starts off complaining that most teachers are female and are feminizing boys. I was taught by nuns and had many female teachers through high school and college. I think the biggest problem is that men are not stepping up to their responsibilities. Many Boy Scout troops now have women Scoutmasters. It's not that there is anything wrong with that, but it's just not right. Boys require the guidance and example of good men in order to grow up and be good men themselves. Not to put down women, especially mothers raising young boys alone. That's how I grew up. Boys need the influence of men. Boys also need to be around girls in order to learn how to BEHAVE as men.

As the mother of 2 boys, I think he has some valid points. The classes my sons enjoyed and excelled in had male teachers, not "lets teach with puppets" and explore our feelings females. It really didn't matter what the subject.

I really enjoy Fred on most things, but he does get a little off beam when it comes to things like the military and patriotism. In this instance he's spot on.

Luckily, I grew up in an era when you were expected to come home bleeding. I'm absolutely certain that I, and all of my friends growing up would have been on Ritalin by age 8 if it were around then.

Another thing, I guess teachers have changed. I remember several women teachers who were more manly than the shop teacher. Give Mrs. Thompson too much guff and she'd take you out!

Study after study after study has shown that boys and girls are different in many, many ways. The socialize differently. They mature differently. They learn differently. They react to emotional situations differently. Etc.

Studies have also shown that boys and girls do best when they have STABLE male and female influences in their lives. Anyone ever notice that a vast majority of 'problem children' have a single gender influence in their lives or one of those influences are constantly changing?

Never much got along with other girls . I got on fine with boys... Most girls in school were mean and bullying, backstabbing and cruel to each other. Glad I went to a school where I could socialize with those I got along better with.
