What in the world is Yahoo doing?

First off, we got out of the Stock market back in 2007, I was in Real Estate at the time, and dh and I both saw it coming.
But I still glance every morning at the previous days numbers.
for the last week or so, for some reason, the tickers are zero'd out every morning, unless there was a gain.
As an example, here is this mornings,
http://finance.yahoo.com/
Look at the Nasdaq. Here is the charting of yesterday's activities there,
http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=^ixic
What's up with this?
It seems like they are trying to hide the down turns, but seriously? Are people that stupid?

Ok, that's weird, I've tried twice to copy and paste the link for the Nasdaq, and it won't work...

I'm one of the few people I know that actually follows the market; not an investor, but to see where things in general are going that day/week/month.
Most folks don't know/care about the markets, therefore the hiding of the change is most likely to (try to) keep people from knowing the truth...The markets are being propped up.

It's a matter of perception, meaning people who don't have money in the market look at Yahoo's numbers on up days and go away thinking everything is going great. Yahoo isn't trying to give stock market information, they're trying to sell an idea to people not paying close attention.

It's pretty apparent reading many of Yahoo's news items which side of the aisle they favor.
