Obamacare Contractor

So Obama couldn't find an incompetent enough contractor in the United States to build his failure of a website, he hired CGI Federal out of Canada to do it with 10 year old technology. Send the money out of the country.

Yeah.. I had thought about the fact the government didn't hire a company in the US... Just one more lie from him, about how hard he's working to put America back to work...

Then again, if he would have hired a US company to build the site, they probably would have only employed H1B workers..

bidding process should only allow US firms IMO.

Also it's stupid for government to use contractors. They should hire employees and have them do it.

Private contractors have no accountability compared to actual employees.

The gov't hires contractors allegedly to save over hiring employees but the way it usually works is contractors are hired based on politics rather than proficiency.

If the Iraq war taught us anything that contracting out things to non gov't employees is a bad idea.

Either way, private hired by government, or government workers doing it, it will cost more than the private sector, and not work properly, no one will be held accoutable and they will just keep throwing taxpayer money at it. Who could not see this coming???? When has the government ever done anything cheaper than the private sector

From what I've read they didn't put it out for bids, so it's pretty obvious somebody has a friend in Canada. Also, they were still changing the regulations and policies as the software was being written.

That being said, name one thing the government does efficiently. I'll help you with the standard ones:
Medicaid - $60 billion in waste & fraud per year minimum
Social Security - A Ponzi scheme, destined to go bankrupt
Military - $600 hammers, hasn't won a war in 67 years.

Privatizing and putting projects out to bid in the private sector, if done honestly, is absolutely the most cost/time/quality efficient way of doing anything.

I know what your saying Tom, but in this case I don't care if the system ever works. I don't care if it cost us a trillion bucks either. Would you rather an efficient American company have this thing up and running? As an aside I would much rather have Canada get the contract than India, China etc. If ACA ever does get up and running and someone hacks it and destroys it, steals records and money, makes life miserable for millions of American in general, about all I could say to them is "thank you"!
